Here is just a note to tell you that I’m blessed to think about you and I pray for you every morning. Your health, security, and your plans for each day. This time of year is so busy that it’s easy to be distracted. I pray that your studies are going well, and that you can take the time to renew your energy and your thoughts. It’s not necessarily the amount of time, but the quality.
If you’re confused, stop, turn off the switch, and put your mind on God for a minute. “Thou wilt keep him (or her) in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on thee.” Of course, I think you already know that, but if you’re like me, we need to be reminded. If you are feeling down, stop and praise God with a Bible verse, a poem, or a hymn that you remember.
“A garment of praise for a spirit of heaviness.” This is a really good ‘swap.’ God is the ultimate transformer! His Power is always changing bad things into good. It is what He does. “God inhabits the praises of His people” – This is what I say to remind myself when I need to feel His Presence.
By the way, when I feel like my prayers are not heard, I wonder about Romans 8:28. “All things work together for good to those who love God, who are called according to his purpose.”
I heard a good illustration this morning – not one single ingredient that goes in a cake is good to eat by itself. I sure don’t want to eat a cup of flour by itself. It is when it’s all put together as a whole, that it is good. So when we feel like prayers aren’t being answered, maybe we are missing an ingredient or two. We must consider our life as a whole. God sees the whole picture. God will supply what we need when his timing is right. We live in a community on earth and the free will of others affects how things can work out.
But we know that it will work together for our good and God‘s purpose. That’s enough sermonizing for now,
I love you, Manaw
